Do you ever get so caught up in life that you are desperate for some self-care?

Well, that was me over the last few weeks…  Between my birthday, launching a new virtual program with 130 people, and doing 7 full-day photo shoots…  I was WIPED.

So thankfully, three nights ago I made it in to get a massage.

It was absolutely DIVINE!  I was relaxed, dropped in, and felt like a brand new person…  And here’s the cool thing.  I went to the very spa where I used to be a massage therapist 7 years ago.  (Burke Williams in Santa Monica, for those of you familiar with LA!)

So you can get the visual…  Can you picture me here, in black?

Yup, I wore that very same, pretty awful outfit.  (I always did feel like a gym teacher gone awry.  And the best part is…  I even had to have a ‘spa name’, and so for a number of years I was exclusively known as “Maya” at work.  Imagine?

Now when I got my massage last night…  My masseuse happened to be someone I knew when I was there.  Her massage was wonderful, and transported me to far off places …  And yet, I couldn’t help but have moments of feeling HORRIFIED wondering what MY life would have been like if I was still working there…  SEVEN years later.

I would have been just like my lovely massage therapist…  Thinking about what new bodywork modality I would train in next to add to my repertoire for my massage practice.

It was a very strange sensation to remember that lifestyle so well…  Yet at the same time, feel no connection to it at all.

And so obviously, I had some profound moments of appreciation for how far I’ve come!  It’s amazing to me to think that what I used to make in a year back then…  I have made in a month now.  Heck, I actually made more than that during the free call of my most recent launch, in 20 MINUTES…  How wild is that?

And so all I have to say is…  Bless my Ecstatic Brand.

Bless the fact that I got the mentoring I needed to bust out of one lifestyle and into another.

Bless the fact that I weathered all my meltdowns, dramas, and Resistances with a capital R.

Bless the fact that I found a way to bring all my gifts together and create a career that didn’t exist yet.

And Bless the fact that I decided to learn about business.

Yes, I needed to learn about business…  I couldn’t magically WISH my way into a life of prosperity as I often did as my healer self…  No, there was an education needed to learn about something with which I had absolutely no experience.

Every person has certain channels that are wide open for them.

For example, my Spiritual channel is very well-developed…  As is my channel of creativity.  But my Business channel?  Nope…  That one was just about non-existent.  And since I was determined to step fully into my power and mission on the planet in this lifetime…  Then I needed to be firing on ALL cylinders, and take the time to OPEN this business channel.

Back in my hippie/healer/BurningMan days, I wouldn’t have batted an eyelash at another training in a new healing modality…  But why hadn’t I thought to do that around business?  Why?  Well, thank goodness I changed that story 2 1/2 years ago.  And now…

I get to go back to the spa I used to work at and be on the RECEIVING end as a client.  And that is a nice place to be, indeed.
