Someone asked me a question recently…  “How do you reach out to get all those great speaking engagements for yourself, and all the Telesummits too?”

And then it hit me…

I couldn’t tell them.

Not because I wasn’t willing to share my success steps with friends and colleagues…  Of course, I was.  But really, it was because of this:  I have never actually reached out to get a speaking engagement for myself. Not once.  Instead…  They have all come to me.  (International ones too!)

And I have to tell you…  I like it this way.  :)

To me… This is the beauty of doing business in the feminine. You become absolutely magnetic and then the opportunities find YOU.  And the way I am able to do this, is through the power of my Personal Brand.

Let me explain…

When a woman gets super clear on her purpose, and how all her gifts come together into one unique offering…  Something happens.  There’s a ‘click’ where all the disparate pieces of herself come into one alignment, and yes…  A switch literally gets flipped.  And when this happens, she become a Beacon…  And a beacon is a radiantly lit being who is attract-ive, and magnetic.

You can become a beacon too! All you need to do is get clear on what makes you unique, get over any visibility issues, and turn your gifts into a viable offering in the marketplace.

Let me tell you how I have benefitted by having a clear personal brand.

• By the end of November…   I will have had 9 speaking engagements this year.  And three were international!
• At just one of these speaking engagements…  I grossed $20K of revenue after being on stage for 75 minutes.
• At another of these speaking engagements…   I’ve been asked to emcee for three days, on top of a speaking slot, in front of an audience of 200.   (I have never emcee’d before, and the person who asked me only met me once!)
• I have also been a part of 8 amazing Telesummits in the last 2 months too.

Now…  I am not sharing all this to brag.  (Although to be honest…  I do think bragging is underrated.  :)  But hey, that’s another story…  Ask me to tell you more about that another time.)

Instead…  I am sharing all this so that you can see how powerful it is to be clear in your personal brand.  And how much it could be costing you to stay confused and unclear.

Each time I was invited to speak, they wanted me to share about Flipping Your Switch, Embodying Your Brand, or how to bring together all your gifts to create a career that doesn’t exist yet.  They felt like these topics would be a good fit for their audience, and there wasn’t any one else out there is talking about them quite like I do.

And get this…  You too have expertise that no one else is talking about. Do you know that?  You only need to get clear, and to own and embody it.

If so…  Then I wanted you to know that due a number of great speaking engagements coming up…  I will be coast to coast, and international too.

And this means, I have room in my upcoming schedule for a few slots of VIP Days outside of LA.

• This week I will be in Philadelphia.
• Next week I will be in San Francisco.
• And at the end of the month, it looks like I will be in the UK.

The photographs I use in my business are 8 months old.

Eight months seems like absolute ages ago…  I have changed so much!  It has felt like the photos are actually of a different woman…  And they definitely carry a different frequency to who I am now.

And so I have been thinking about getting new photos done for awhile now.  I had hoped to connect with an old photographer friend of mine while I was in London for new shots, but that didn’t quite work out…  And then, last week I heard from an old fashion photographer friend from my NYC days who happened to be in town, and he could photograph me on Friday.

Friday?  You mean, three days away?

Oiy.

Well, my intuition said to go for it anyway…  And so I did.

Keep in mind…

* I wasn’t really clear on the next evolution of my brand.

* I wasn’t sure I had the right dresses.

* And I desperately needed a haircut.  :)

However…

I know firsthand how transformational a photo shoot can be.  I have watched it happen over and over again for dozens of my clients…  And so I trusted my intuition was leading me in the right direction, and that I would get exactly what I needed.

And so….  I booked a haircut for Thursday afternoon…  Made it to the mall afterward, and found 3 amazing dresses in an hour at Nordstrom….  And had a moment of inspiration which said the next evolution of my brand was “Badass Elegance”.

And so here you have it.

Um….  Can you say UPLEVEL YOUR BRAND, much?

There is something magical that happens on a photo shoot…  It’s like the quantum leap in your soul that knows you’re here for something big, and that you might as well be living that already, gets activated in a very streamlined fast-track kind of way, and BAM…  You’re suddenly there.

I might call that Embodiment…  But the words above describe it viscerally.

As the photo shoot goes along, you can actually feel it…  It’s like every fiber of your being starts to vibrate a little differently, and your molecules get re-arranged and tuned to a higher frequency.

And that higher frequency translates into UPLEVELING YOUR BRAND.

And this, my friends, translates into more high-end clients.

It also translates into:

*  More confidence in who you are and what you have to offer.

*  A great marketing campaign ~ Freshen up your ezine, fb page, and blog with new pictures!

*  And, get more comfortable with your Feminine Side.

I haven’t found anything else quite like it myself…  You can TALK about upleveling…  But it’s not until you go through the experience of picking out new clothes, having your makeup done, embodying your brand, and posing like a rock star that you GET IT INTO YOUR BONES.

That’s what happened for me…  It was great for me to go through it all again so that I could remember how much actually happens…  I mean, I’ve had one client who even told me she “lived differently afterward”.

And so all of this inspired me so much, that I have opened up space in my calendar for 5 of my photo shoot + coaching packages.

*  Get clear on your personal brand

*  Work through visibility issues

*  Atrract attention from high-end clients

My last photo shoot 8 months ago happened to be in the middle of my biggest month of revenue yet.

There are lots of ways for us to build our businesses that require hard work and sweat equity.  Well, having your own photo shoot can accomplish the same quantum leaps, but with a lot of fun instead.

It was finally time for ME to have a photo shoot again!  It’s been 8 months since my last one, and I feel like I have changed so much.  I want to make sure my photos hold the frequency and feeling of my current brand!

Come along for the journey behind-the-scenes starting from my new haircut, to getting makeup done, to the actual shoot, and meet my photographer too.

Two years ago… I was a broken record.

For an entire summer, I walked around mumbling…

“I’ve got all these gifts, but I don’t know how they come together.”

And then there was a b-side to that broken record too, which said… “And I DEFINITELY don’t how to make money doing them, or who would pay me for it.”

Right?

Who’s feeling me on this one?  :)

I know this place so well… I mean, it can be SO frustrating to have a sense deep down that you know you’re here for something big… But not know how to get there.

Well, here’s the thing….

Most people can’t get there on their own. I sure couldn’t…. And you may be the same.

Think about it… If you’re here to birth something big into the world, then that’s going to an awfully big baby… And, it makes sense that you would need some assistance, a midwife, to help you.

An outside eye can be such a valuable gift to help you see the bigger picture… And, to guide you to the life that’s been waiting for you ~ on purpose and prosperous.

That’s what happened for me… That fall after my summer of mumbling, I finally managed to find the right mentor, and the right program, and with her help…. I found a way to bring all my gifts together. My background as a fashion photographer, combined with my background in the healing arts, to launch a business of transformational photography supporting women entrepreneurs to Embody Their Brand.

Now, who could have seen that coming? Certainly not me… Without her help, I wouldn’t have had a clue on how that all came together… And then, I would have been just another heart-centered idealist with a great idea…. Who was struggling with money, and frustrated by the lack of clarity on her mission.

I wasn’t satisfied with that. Are you?

And now… I look back and am so glad I took that major leap because my life looks radically different from 2 years ago.

* I used to live in a converted garage with my husband, and now we live in a lovely high-rise in Marina Del Rey stocked with amenities.

* I was a starving healing artist then, and now I’ve made in one month what I used to make in a year.

* I wasn’t able to travel then because of money, and last month I just got back from a month in the UK working with amazing clients.

All of this came about because I trusted I was here for something big, knew I had gifts that made me unique, and was willing to invest in getting help to figure it out.

HOT Biz Tips From Marilyn Monroe

I know…  This may seem like a strange statement.  However…  This week I did a free call called Pop Your Personal Brand ~ Go From Norma Jean to Marilyn Monroe.

And in the preparation of that call…  I realized there are some incredible business lessons that Marilyn can teach us!

As Tony Robbins says, “Success leaves clues”…  So let us learn from Marilyn.

1) Go Sexy and Hot

Marilyn was not afraid of her sensuality, and it brought her great career success.

As women…  We have often been conditioned to hide our sensuality in business. However, I beg to differ.  Our sexuality is connected to our ‘generative organs’, and our generative organs literally GENERATE.  We need this in business and in making money!  I believe our sensuality is a powerful potency that ideally, can be channeled to create great work.

Now, I am not talking about the gratuitous use of sexuality…   A month ago, I started a juicy dialog on facebook asking the question if a woman could be Hot AND Professional. It was quite a lively debate with over 60 comments!  Many women answered a resounding YES!  And many others were worried it might set back women’s rights a 100 years or so.  :)

For me…  I see pure sensuality as quite an effective power.  I spend a good deal of time using simple movements to help my clients get into their bodies before we shoot…  Because I always say... “Nothing is more powerful than a woman in her pleasure.” And it’s incredible what happens to the effectiveness of a photograph when a woman is out of her head and into her hips! And this is one of the secrets behind the success of HeartShots.

2) Go High-End

Marilyn Monroe is synonymous with diamonds, furs, and wealth…  And this was good for her business.

Now, as a disclaimer…  This is not a glorification of materialism.  Instead, this is about frequency. My background in the healing arts makes me intuitively sensitive to energy… And gems, lovely clothes, and luxurious homes happen to have a higher frequency!

Think about it…  When you wear a lovely dress that makes you feel good…  Don’t you feel like a million bucks? And don’t you think this might draw in high-end clients?  Yes…  Money will literally be attracted to you because you are vibrating at a higher frequency.

I always invite my clients to wear dressier clothes than normal, and there is a reason… It’s so that they step can into the high-end version of themselves, and therefore draw in high-end clients! You can hear more about this on my next free call ~ High-End Photos = High-End Clients

3) Have a Team ~ Don’t Do it Alone

Norma Jean could not have become Marilyn Monroe on her own.  She needed a team of support around her to become the legend she did.

Think of any celebrity, whether it’s Oprah, Angelina Jolie, or Marilyn Monroe.  They all have a support team...  Which may include a nutritionist, a hair dresser, an agent, an assistant, a trainer, a stylist, and the list goes on and on!

It’s official.  True success is created with a success team.

So as women entrepreneurs, we need to take note.

If we are here to create success, then we cannot think we can do it alone. We must start gathering our own support team around us…  And this is not an either/or situation.  It’s not about hiring a business coach OR creating a powerful web presence.  Today’s world is about BOTH/AND.  So stretch, take the leap, and find ‘your’ team!  Your business will thank you.  :)

And I promise, you’ll get used to it…  My clients adore having their own success team on their shoot with a photographer/coach, stylist, and hair & makeup… They really do feel like a celebrity for the day!

4) Love the Attention…  And Use It.

Marilyn Monroe was not afraid of attention, and she used it to great success.

Many women entrepreneurs have visibility issues, and I believe this is hurting their businesses.  After all…  If you are hiding, how can money find you?

I understand, I know visibility issues run deep…   I have had my own which I shared in this video.

However… We can all feel it’s time to get over our visibility issues. I am hearing this from women everywhere, and it’s been so fun to feel the buzz building around “Flip Your Switch”!  I believe that everyone has Star Power within them…  And that it only takes practice and support to take the baby steps to let it out and SHINE. I talk my clients through this process all the time.

Even though we sadly know things did not work out for Marilyn in the end…  I feel that there is a new story brewing today…  Many of us know we are here to create great change in the world…  And if that’s the case.  Then we need Turn On Our Star Power and USE IT FOR GOOD.   And then be ready to be on the front page of EVERYTHING.
